Our office makes every attempt to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Please recognize the fact that there are only so many after-school appointments and we try to be open when school is out to better accommodate our patients, but sometimes school may need to be missed. We don’t reserve certain times for certain ages, as every child is different and we want to cater to what works best for you and your child! Dental appointments are an excused absence. Missing school can be kept to a minimum when regular dental care is continued.
Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient, we ask that you please notify our office 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep your appointment. Another patient, who needs our care, could be scheduled if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard. There will be a $25 fee if we are not notified.
If you are more than 10 min late for your child’s appointment, our ability to give your child the proper attention and care will be compromised. We will give you the option to wait for the next available time, or we may have to reschedule your child’s appointment in order to give them the care that they deserve.
Do you have a hard time remembering appointments? Need a friendly reminder? We offer Smile Reminder confirmation service to our patients’ parents to make your life easier! We can send you a text message and/or email reminder one week before, two days before, and again an hour before your child’s appointment. We have found that the majority of our patients prefer receiving electronic reminders rather than a phone call. These reminders in advance also help parents avoid fees by last-minute cancellations. Please inform our staff of your preferences and we will set this service up for your convenience!
At Kingsport Pediatric Dentistry we recognize that adhering to a schedule is important in order to maximize everyone’s time and meet the demands of daily life. With this in mind, we have developed an appointment policy that is fair to both our patients and our practice. We are committed to seeing our patients in a timely manner and respecting their time. In order to maintain our schedule, we request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. If notification is less than 24 hours before your child’s reserved appointment time, a $25 fee will be applied. Thank you for understanding.
How familiar are you with your dental insurance coverage? It’s always a good idea to check with your insurance company before your child’s appointment so you’ll have a good understanding of what services are covered by your plan. We accept ALL PPO dental insurance. We are considered “in-network” providers with BCBS, Dental Dental, and Cigna. For patients with any other type of traditional dental insurance, we will be happy to file claims on your behalf. Contact your provider to learn more about the specifics of your coverage.
When planning for your appointment it may be helpful to keep in mind that dental insurance is meant to be an aid in receiving dental care. Many patients think that their insurance pays 90%-100% of all dental fees. This is not true! Most plans only pay between 50%-80% of the average total fee. Some pay more, some pay less. The percentage paid is usually determined by how much you or your employer has paid for coverage or the type of contract your employer has set up with the insurance company.

Your payment will be due on the day of your appointment. We will file insurance claims on your behalf; however, any amounts that will not be covered by insurance must be paid on the day of the appointment. We accept cash, personal checks, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. Additionally, we offer payment plan options through CareCredit third-party financing.
